Football Superstar kicks off on television this week, with several youngsters all fighting to impress John Kosmina and his staff and earn a contract with the Moore Park club.

Sydney FC travel to Blacktown City Demons next Wednesday and it is likely that some of the contestants in the reality show will enjoy a taste of action for NSW Premier League side Blacktown.

A Sydney FC spokesman told au.fourfourtwo.com: "It's not absolutely definite but I think there's a good chance some of them will get some time (on the pitch) but probably not 90 minutes."

Filming for the show has been underway for a couple of weeks with the club adamant that it is not causing any disruption to pre-season preparations.

First team players will feature from time to time in the program but are not being asked to spend excessive time in front of the camera.

And as for the quality of the young hopefuls themselves, the spokesman said: "I think the coaching staff have been pleasantly surprised.

"I think the show has come at a good time, coinciding with the new Youth League and it's all further raising the profile of Sydney FC."

Sydney FC’s friendly against Blacktown City will be played at Gabbie Stadium next Wednesday (June 25)at 7pm.
