Sydney's front two tormented Kevin Muscat's back three all night with pace and willingness to run at the defence.

And with the pair bagging all three goals in the opening quarter of an hour, there is a feeling the sky blues have found the right combination for the remainder of the season.

The ebullient duo said they hoped they can continue to grow as a front two.

"That's the fourth game together and it just keeps getting better week by week," said Bridge after stepping off a flight from Melbourne this afternoon.

"We complement each other, it's a good partnership. And last night was excellent and hopefully we can play as many games together as possible.

"We've been working hard together, we're working hard for each other. It's working well."

The win was set up by a scorching opening 15 minutes where Sydney pounded a hapless Victory with three fantastically taken goals.

The front pair's searing pace across the frontline and their willingness to put defensive pressure on Muscat's defensive three worked to a tee.

What was even more laudable was Sydney's ability to keep the ball, play out of danger on the deck and remain composed in dangerous areas.

"We do a lot of homework on the teams we play against and we worked out that the back three that they play, when you play a three and not a four, you leave a lot of space in the front third for us.
"And we tried to exploit that with guys like Corica, Kisel and McFlynn pushing on which made it easier for us," said Brosque.

Quizzed on Brosque and Bridge joked: "He does all the running for me."
Bridge added that his on-field verbal spat with the Victory skipper - after Muscat appeared to bring him down in the box then appear to kick Bridge while he was on the ground - was too x-rated to be repeated in public.

Brosque, you sense, was a relieved man to get off the mark with his first goal of the season - a clever header in-between two Victory defenders courtesy of a laser-like cross from Simon Colosimo - to open Sydney's account inside the first ten minutes.

"I'm glad I got it out of the way so now I don't have to think about it anymore," he said.
