Key players for the Colts first-team this season include Canadian midfielder Payden Pemberton, Yuto Asada and flashy French winger Ferdinand Annor.

"The Men’s Premier League team has been a steady force in the Premier League and the club has been on the cusp of making top four in the last few years," Roach explained.

"The Club’s pinnacle football achievement is qualification in the national round of 32 in the FFA Cup.

The Gold Coast has been without a representative on the national stage since the demise of Gold Coast United in 2012.

In recent years several Gold Coast clubs have impressed in the FFA Cup, including Gold Coast City FC, Surfers Paradise Apollo and Palm Brach.

Roach is keen to continue that trend and bring more attention and respect to the beautiful game on the Glitter Strip.

"With the participation of three Gold Coast teams in the Queensland round to qualify for the national round of 32 the standard of Gold Coast football is at a high level already," he said.

"This exemplifies the extent of talent and commitment to football on the Gold Coast and it is only now that this can be apparent to the Australian footballing community. So, whilst it may appear, we were not on the map, we simply needed a torchlight to be shone on what exists.

"Hopefully with our qualification to the national round of 32 and the strength of participation in the Queensland qualification rounds a spotlight can be shone on the Gold Coast’s footballing standard and achievements for all of Australia to see."
