EXCLUSIVE: Danny Tiatto has ruled out a switch to Gold Coast or Townsville as he considers extending his playing career.
The experienced midfielder has revealed that tentative contract discussions with Roar have taken place but the former Manchester City man will not be rushing into a decision.
His current deal expires at the end of the season and he will assess matters over the next few weeks before deciding whether to carry on or hang up the boots.
However, the message from Tiatto is very clear. It's either Roar or no-one at all.
Speaking to au.fourfourtwo.com today, the 35-year-old said: "I'm (contract) up at the end of the season and I've had some talks about the situation.
"I've said that I'll wait for a while and see how I feel. If I'm feeling pretty good then there's every chance that I'll put pen to paper.
"If I'm not then you think about putting your feet up back in Melbourne. But Frank (Farina) brought me back here to play and I wouldn't go anywhere else.
"I won't be moving to Gold Coast or Townsville."
Tiatto was delighted to see Farina pen a new deal though and hopes skipper Craig Moore will follow.
He said: "We've a good squad here and you want to make sure that you have a bunch of players that can progress together. You want to keep the young lads and have experienced players like Craig Moore to help them."
Tiatto said the players were slightly disappointed not to have started the new season with a full haul of points but said Sunday's 1-1 draw might end up being a useful point at the end of the campaign.
He said: "It's a difficult place to go and I think New Zealand have recruited well this year. But once we got ourselves in front it was disappointing to concede so quickly."
