EXCLUSIVE: Turkish Super Lig side Konyaspor are closing in on signing Central Coast Mariners number one Danny Vukovic but the Gosford side insist no deal has been done yet.
The talented shot-stopper wasn't part of the A-League club's squad for last night's 1-1 friendly draw with Blacktown Demons, fuelling speculation the player was set to leave.
Turkish newspaper reports claimed that the talented 25-year-old had already signed with the club and Vukovic is now listed on the Konyaspor wikipedia page as one of their goalkeepers.
But the Mariners have downplayed it saying no deal has yet to be signed athough they admit the two clubs are getting close to an agreement.
The A-league side today confirmed to au.fourfourtwo.com there was "Interest" from Konyaspor and that negotiations were ongoing with the former Olyroo keeper.
Vukovic has been with the Gosford based club since its inception in the A-League and is a former Olyroo, tipped to one day challenge for Mark Schwarzer's coveted Socceroos number one jersey.
