AUSSIE James Wesolowski could see a potential switch to Dundee United scuppered by the financial uncertainty gripping Scottish clubs over Setanta's SPL broadcasting deal.
Wesolowski was a big hit during a loan spell at United last season and manager Craig Levein made no secret of his desire to sign the player.
However, with broadcaster Setanta in a tough financial position SPL clubs are being extremely cautious about bringing in players.
That could mean an end to the Australian's hopes for a switch, at least for now.
Levein told the Press and Journal: "The Setanta thing makes it difficult for everyone.
"I've already signed Stevie Banks, Jeno and Danny Cadamarteri so by the time I bring in another goalkeeper that will be me just under the budget. So as things stand it's unlikely I'll add more players.
"I need to speak to the chairman again because things have changed because of Setanta. Everyone is the same at the moment and you can understand why because it's very important.
"At this stage I don't know if we'll get any more in, we'll just have to wait and see."
Wesolowski also had a loan spell with Cheltenham Town last year before he suffered an injury setback.
