It’s understood Di Pietro didn’t give the players a firm commitment that Magilton will continue to coach the club into the future.

Magilton was brought into the club on a temporary basis at the beginning of the year.

He took over from Mehmet Durakovic who lost his job just three months into the A-League season with the club struggling to string together a winning run.

However the one-time Ipswich manager wasn’t able to turn the club’s fortunes around during his four months in the A-League.

Victory missed the A-League finals for one of the few times in the club’s history and are now planning on revitalising their squad and pondering who will coach the
team.

The Victory players are currently on annual leave and we’ll reconvene on May 1 ahead of their glamour friendly with Greek club Olympiakos on May 20.

Who will be in the Victory dugout for that clash remains unclear.
