Although they failed to secure full points at home, Vidmar was full of compliments for the commitment shown by his side, and admits they deserved something more from the game.

"I thought we deserved the three points tonight. I thought our first half was excellent. Everyone was really committed and I feel very sorry for the boys tonight because they deserve a lot more than that," Vidmar said.

"Full credit to our boys, they never stopped giving up and Matty Leckie popped up at the right spot and got the equaliser for us.

"They absolutely busted their backsides tonight, I can't fault them. I'm very proud of what they did, there was some great steely resolve about them tonight."

Just when it seemed all hope was lost, Leckie capped off another eye catching performance, as he weaved around Jason Culina and sent a low shot past a diving Higgins, and into the back of the net to salvage a valuable point.

"We've got to keep plugging away, (we) have got to stay positive, and I think there were a lot of positives out of tonight. I think a performance like that, even though we didn't get the three points, certainly there is a lot to draw from for the rest of the season," Vidmar added.

"We've just got to keep driving ourselves, and I think what's really important is that the players don't drop their heads and they still believe that they can achieve another six or seven wins, which is certainly not out of the question."
