After taking a stunning 3-0 lead in last night's first leg at home, the Reds now must handle the tricky task of a long trip to Taskent for the second leg.

And a Bunyodkor side that will look to hit United hard with an attacking onslaught courtesy of Rivaldo, Djeparov and others.

"I don't like my sides just to defend," Vidmar told au.fourfourtwo.com shortly after the memorable victory.

"When you go out just to defend, it becomes a mindset. And if you cop a goal, it's hard to change that mindset."

Vidmar paid tribute to his young defenders Daniel Mullen and Scott Jamieson, who the former Socceroo described as having "shown character" on the big stage.

That said, Vidmar said it was a strong possibility that key defender Sasa Ognenovski would return for the second leg in the hothouse of the Pakhtakor stadium.

"I want the boys to enjoy it," Vidmar said of the historic win.

"It's not often this happens but the first thing I said in the press conference was we have to keep a lid on it.

"And we've had plans in place for the second leg for a few weeks now. It'll be tricky."

The coach added that the sold-out Hindmarsh crowd was like a 12th man.
