The Brazilian scored twice in Saturday night's 3-0 demolition of Wellington Phoenix at Hindmarsh Stadium.

Vidmar was a very happy man as he reflected on a third match without defeat and seven points clocked up out of a possible nine.

He said: "We certainly started off the game extremely well and finished it off very well. From start to finish, I was really pleased about the whole performance.

"I mentioned during the week that if we had seven or eight players performing above their average, then we’ll win the game and that was certainly the case.”

Vidmar also made mention of Cristiano breaking through for his debut Hyundai A-League goal, and said having now found the back of the net, that it would take the pressure off him.

Of the new boy's performance, he said: "(It was)good. He was a bit slow in the first half and I think he really needed that goal just to get the monkey off his back and as soon as he got his goal, his confidence really lifted so I was really pleased. He probably could have got himself a hat-trick in at the end."

Vidmar also sees the potential of a fruitful partnership with Paul Agostino but admits there is still work to do.

"We went back to two upfront for this game. Paul Agostino got another 75 minutes in which is good. The more time he gets on the park the better."

The coach concluded by saying midfielders Jonas Salley and Paul Reid had taken on board exactly what he wanted them to do in the centre of the park.
