Vrteski, 20, is of Macedonian heritage and currently with Republic of Macedonia club FK Pobeda.

He joined the club in 2007 after some stellar performances as a teenager for Perth Glory in season two of the A-League.

The former AIS and fringe Australian youth international played eight times for his hometown club and showed some genuine potential as a back up to Jason Petkovic.

However the Karratha-born former Sorrento keeper was unable to nail a regular spot and took up the opportunity to pursue an overseas career.

Pobeda, nicknamed The Monkeys, are said to have slimmed down Vrteski's 194-cm frame, which was listed at 100kg in 2007.

Vrteski toured South America with the Young Socceroos in 2006 and played in the first stage of their World Cup qualifiers in Sri Lanka last year before moving to the club.
