PERTH Glory captain Jacob Burns is confident the club can cope with Andy Todd's suspension on their two-week road trip to Queensland.
Perth are on a five-match unbeaten streak and find themselves equal second with Sunday's opponents Gold Coast United on the A-League ladder.
However they will be without the services of Todd after the club accepted a two-match ban from the FFA's match review panel for 'violent conduct' after his clash with Adelaide United defender Scott Jamieson.
But Burns, who is returning from an one-week suspension for collecting five yellow cards this season, felt his side had enough depth to cope with the English defender's absence.
"Andy is a fantastic player," he said. "He'll be missed with his experience and he's been having a great season.
"But we have enough talent in the team, I think, to fill in, to do a job and we'll be looking to do that without Andy for the next couple of weeks."
The former Leeds United midfielder felt his side "fully deserved" to win their last clash against Gold Coast in round 6 - a game which ended in a 2-2 draw thanks to a late equaliser from New Zealand international Shane Smeltz.
"Yeah I think we're a little bit upset they stole points so to speak," Burns said. "So we'll be looking to do same up there.
"But they are a good side, they are sitting on the same points as we are and if we could get one over them up there that'd be fantastic.
Glory have already started preparing for the second part of the Queensland road trip - a match against North Queensland Fury on October 24 - with the players using a heat chamber at a local university this week to mimic the climatic conditions of the region.
"It's about acclimatising and looking for every edge we can to benefit us in the game," Burns said. "It is a very different climate and it's something we are going to have to adjust to and do everything we can to get through it."
Burns was also confident his side could win both matches away from ME Bank Stadium - something which has been a weakness for Glory in past seasons.
"You've got to set the bar high for yourselves," he said. "We're not going there thinking we are going to lose.
"We want to get six points on the trot again and we'll regroup after that and see where we're sitting."
