In front of a sea of empty yellow seats, the distance derby ignored the lack of hype to provide a cracking contest.
WELLINGTON PHOENIX
Tando Velaphi: 6 - On debut against his former club, didn't trust his wall from set-pieces and, as a result, couldn't do much about Diego Castro's goal.
Scott Galloway: 5.5 - Tenacious early, biting at Castro's heels. When he pushed inside, he was far less valuable. Conceded a touch-and-go penalty out of position to gift Perth the chance to win, lucky that Castro embarassed himself.
Andrew Durante: 7.5 - Captain corageous as-per-usual. Always impresses with his technical ability and willingness to drive forward.
Dylan Fox: 7 - Provided a target from corners and was quick to mop loose balls.
Tom Doyle: 5 - Always bursts a lung marauding down the touchline, tracked back sufficiently to nullify Jacob Italiano, but lost his head completely in the second half.
Matthew Ridenton: 6.5 - A few flashy moments and impressive passes. Ridenton's one of the 'Nix's youngsters threatened by 'natural selection', and he played like he knew it.
