Yesterday Constantine instructed the playing group he'd meet with them on Friday for crisis talks just a day before the team was due to leave for South Korea and their crucial ACL clash with Ulsan Hyundai.

In the latest twist in this unseemly public spat, Jets players representatives have now told au.fourfourtwo.com that they do not want to meet their President.

The playing group say they prefer the PFA to do all negotiating on their behalf and for them not to have to deal with Constantine personally.

The players are threatening to boycott the game in South Korea next week unless unpaid bonuses are paid to them, they say.

And players representatives have hit back at suggestions that they don't have a legal leg to stand on in this spat.

"Would the Socceroos have gone to the Asian Cup if they hadn't got their match bonuses? No, of course not. So why should it be any different for us in the Asian Champions League," said one Jets player.

"It's not a legal issue, it's a moral issue."
