Despite going down to ten-men Melbourne City hung onto a 2-nil lead in Sydney thanks to heroics from goalkeeper Eugene Galekovic.
Roly Bonevacia - 3
Bonevacia seriously struggled to find time and space on the ball and was a weaklink for the Wanderers going forward.
Jordan O'Doherty - 5
O'Doherty helped on the play with quick passing and decent vision on the pitch. The Wanderers lack of defensive cover in midfield was on display as they struggled to deal with the numbers City had in the middle of the pitch.
Keanu Baccus - 5
Who won the battle of the Baccus brothers? They were both average but Keanu hardly shined in the match throughout.
Alexander Baumjohann - 4
The German maestro was hardly that, snatching at passes in break away plays, stymieing the Wanderers' attacks.
Bruce Kamau - 3
Kamau's first half was so-so, with an unsuccessful cross and failed shot before a foolish yellow card after dragging back a City player on halfway. Kamau then missed a one-on-one opportunity although superb goalkeeping from Galekovic played a major part in the miss.
Oriol Riera - 6
Riera worked well in between the lines dropping in and linking up the play for two Wanderers chances early in the first half. Riera's penalty was saved by Galekovic in the final ten minutes of the match.

Majok came on for Bruce Kamau who had a troubled match. Majok's perstistence earned Western Sydney a penalty in the 85th minute.
Nick Fitzgerald - 6
Fitzgerald replaced Jordan O'Doherty on the 77th minute as the late replacements for the Wanderers provided no sparks.
Tass Mourdoukoutas - N/A
