Despite going down to ten-men Melbourne City hung onto a 2-nil lead in Sydney thanks to heroics from goalkeeper Eugene Galekovic.
MELBOURNE CITY
Eugene Galekovic - 9
Galekovic was wayward with his clearances putting City back under pressure without the adequate numbers to press the ball again. Galekovic pulled off a superb finger tip save to deny Kamau in a one-on-one situation.
Galekovic then rolled back the years to deny the Wanderers with two stunning saves in the second half.
Ritchie De Laet - 7
De Laet scored his third A-League goal of the season with a powerful drive into the side netting making it two goals in two minutes for Melbourne City.
Harrison Delbridge - 7
Delbridge had a solid performance with tidy passing and tackling. Delbridge's long passing was inaccurate, however.
Bart Schenkeveld - 6.5
Schenkeveld has a battle on his hands up against Oriol Riera as Riera seemed to have brushed up on the Dutchman's movements.
Schenkeveld thought twice about his cheeky one touch passing but still managed to keep situations under control.
Scott Jamieson - 6.5
The skipper wasn't at his best, turning over possession on his left flank as well as struggling to find chances going forward on the Wanderers defensive right side.
Rostyn Griffiths - 3
On more than one occasion Griffiths turned over the ball in an extremely dangerous position, on many occasions he was bailed out by a team-mate. His horror night was finalised with a second yellow card on 55 minutes and was sent off leaving City in a lurch.
