GOLD Coast United coach Miron Bleiberg hopes his side's surprise 1-0 win over Perth Glory on Sunday can ignite their season after a stop-start beginning to the new campaign.
"It was a good performance and an important three points for us. Hopefully this win will kick-start our season and we can string some results together," Bleiberg said.
"We looked fresh and eager and it was nice to actually have a game after two byes already this season.
"Our intention was to come here for the three points and our players stuck to the game-plan.
"I thought we did well against a very good Perth Glory team who hadn't lost a game so far this year.
"There was no plan to defend the way we had to in the second half, but Perth forced us to do that and all credit to them because they were causing us problems."
Perth Glory coach Dave Mitchell said his side had a bad day at the office.
"It's disappointing to lose at home but we did not deserve to win," Mitchell said.
"We will put it down as an off day and we didn't have enough players at the races."
