Mercurial Aussie striker Kwame Yeboah has joined SC Paderborn on loan from German giants Borussia Monchengladbach.

Yeboah’s move to the German third division club comes with the 2018 World Cup only five months away, and Australia’s dearth of striking options offering opportunities to whoever’s playing – and scoring - regularly.

Yeboah has made 53 appearances for Monchengladbach’s reserve side in the Regionalliga West, scoring 13 goals, and had been training with the first team without making a senior appearance.

This season, Yeboah had only made five appearances in all competitions, scoring once. His move comes weeks after fellow Brisbane Roar graduate, Jamie Maclaren, left German club SV Darmstadt on loan to Hibernian.
