Inter were beaten 3-0 by Tottenham in the Europa League last Thursday, and they were dealt another huge blow on Sunday when Bologna proved to be too strong at San Siro (1-0), much to the disappointment of Zanetti - who played his 600th match for the club.

"It's a tough time, you lose a bit of belief when things aren't going well," the Argentine told the club's official website.

"We now need this to end as soon as possible because it can't continue: we need to rediscover our confidence. We're working on it but it's not easy.

"We really needed a convincing performance from everyone (against Bologna). We all must try and give more."

Inter have dropped to fifth spot in the Serie A table following the weekend's results.
