MOSCOW, June 5 (Sputnik) - About 720,000 Fan IDs for this summer's FIFA World Cup in Russia have been issued and around 25 percent of those were requested by women, Executive Director of the Association of Tour Operators of Russia Maya Lomidze said on Tuesday.
She also said that, according to the World Cup Local Organizing Committee, 717,000 Fan IDs had been issued as of May 11.
"Since then, even if this number has increased, it has not been by much. We can say that a maximum of 720,000 fans will attend all the World Cup matches. This is the total number of the Russian and foreign fans with Fan IDs. At the same time, it is estimated that 25 percent of those who have Fan IDs are women," Lomidze said.
She added that 400,000 people with Fan IDs were foreigners.
The 2018 FIFA World Cup will be held in Russia from June 14 to July 15 with the games set to take place at 12 stadiums in 11 cities across the country.
