MOSCOW, July 15 (Sputnik) - Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko has arrived in the Russian capital to attend the FIFA World Cup closing ceremony and the final match at Moscow's Luzhniki Stadium, the president's press service said on Sunday.
"President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko has arrived in Moscow where he will attend the closing ceremony and the FIFA World Cup final match," the press service said.
On Saturday, presidential spokeswoman Natalia Eismont said that Lukashenko would attend the ceremony at the invitation of his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin.
The final between 1998 World Cup winners France and first-time finalists Croatia is set to kick-off at 18:00 local time (15:00 GMT) right after the closing ceremony, which will also take place at the Luzhniki Stadium.
