Belgium defeated England 2-0 earlier on Saturday and claimed third place at the tournament, which is their best performance ever at a World Cup.

"Many teams have played well... Those teams that played in the third place play-off absolutely deserved [to play] in the final. I really liked the football Belgium played. [I] really like France and Croatia," Golodets told journalists.

She added that she supported Russia during this summer's tournament.

Russia reached the World Cup knockout stage for the first time since the break-up of the Soviet Union in 1991 before beating 2010 champions Spain on penalties in the round of 16 but lost to Croatia, also in a penalty shootout, in the last eight on July 7.

The 2018 FIFA World Cup kicked off on June 14 and will continue until Sunday, with the final set to be held at Moscow's Luzhniki Stadium.
