MOSCOW, June 5 (Sputnik) - The Brazilian government will shift the state employees' working hours on the days of Brazil's 2018 FIFA World Cup matches so that they can watch the games, a document published by the government's official journal revealed Tuesday.
According to the decree published by Diario Oficial da Uniao, Brazilian public employees will start working at 2 p.m. local time when matches featuring the national football team are held in the morning.
On the days when Brazil play in the afternoon, the workers will be allowed to leave office at 1 p.m.
The 2018 FIFA World Cup will be held in Russia from June 14 to July 15.
Five-time champions Brazil were drawn in Group E and will first face Switzerland in Rostov-on-Don on June 17 with the kick-off due at 3 p.m. Brazil time. They will next take on Costa Rica in St. Petersburg on June 22 at 9 a.m.
Brazil's last group-stage game against Serbia will be held in Moscow and will start at 3 p.m. Brazil time.
