Brazil's two-time World Cup winner Cafu said on Wednesday that he considered Portugal forward Cristiano Ronaldo to be the best player in the world and that he had every chance to win the Champions League with his new club, Juventus.
Ronaldo's over $100-million-transfer from Real Madrid, where the 33-year-old had been playing since 2009, was announced on Tuesday.
"Cristiano Ronaldo is the strongest player in the world at the moment and I am sure that he will be able to play in Italy as successfully as he did in the Spanish league at Real [Madrid]... He has everything to do this," Cafu told reporters when asked whether Ronaldo would be able help Juventus win the Champions League.
The Italian club have reached the Champions League final on five occasions since beating Ajax on penalties in 1996 to lift the trophy for a second time and most recently were beaten by Real 4-1 in the final in 2017.
As a Real player, Ronaldo netted 311 goals in 292 appearances, becoming the club's all-time leading goalscorer and winning the Champions League five times.
The striker scored four goals at this year's World Cup, including a hat-trick in Portugal's 3-3 draw with Spain in their opening match.
