MOSCOW, July 9 (Sputnik) - Croatia forward Andrej Kramaric praised England forward Jamie Vardy on Monday, saying that he was "one of the best strikers."
Croatia beat Russia 4-3 on penalties in their World Cup quarter-final in Sochi on Saturday and will face England in the semi-final match at Moscow's Luzhniki Stadium on Wednesday. The kick-off is set for 21:00 Moscow time (18:00 GMT).
"England are serious opponents, they are a young team, they are hungry for victories, although there are no world-class celebrities there. We'll have a tough time, but we'll try to become difficult opponents for England. We're dreaming of qualifying for the final, and we'll make everything we can to make this dream come true. I'll definitely say 'hi' to [England forward] Jamie Vardy before the match. He'll always be one of the best strikers for me," Kramaric told journalists.
Kramaric and Vardy used to be teammates at English club Leicester City, where the Croat spent one season.
Russia's first-ever FIFA World Cup will come to an end on Sunday, with the final set to be held at Moscow's Luzhniki Stadium.
