MOSCOW, July 15 (Sputnik) - Croatia head coach Zlatko Dalic said on Sunday that he would not make a decision on continuing his role with the national team in a hurry after his side's loss in the FIFA World Cup final.
France beat Croatia 4-2 at Moscow's Luzhniki Stadium on Sunday, securing their second title.
"Now I'm ready to relax a bit. The last several months we worked very hard, but it was great to work with the guys. It's wonderful that we took second place. Now I'll take a rest, and then I'll decide. I never make a decision in a hurry. I don't think about anything except rest now," Dalic told journalists.
The head coach noted that his team were not lucky enough in the final.
"We were lucky throughout the entire tournament. Today we weren't lucky enough. The first goal was the own goal, though we controlled the game. But that unfortunate free kick and then a penalty were awarded [to France]. It was difficult to expect that we would equalize after the third and the forth goals. It was difficult to find the strength, but the players didn't give up," Dalic said.
Russia's first-ever FIFA World Cup kicked off on June 14 and came to a close on Sunday with 64 games played in 11 cities across the country.
