ST. PETERSBURG, July 4 (Sputnik) - England defender Fabian Delph said on Wednesday that he was coming back to Russia to rejoin the rest of the team after traveling to England for the birth of his daughter.
Delph missed England's World Cup round of 16 game against Colombia on Tuesday as he was attending the birth of his third baby.
"At 07:52 me, my wife and two beautiful daughters welcomed their baby sister into the world. I can’t put into words the happiness and gratitude I’m feeling... Back to Russia now," Delph posted on his official Instagram page.
The 28-year-old Manchester City player also said that he had experienced "the most amazing 24 hours."
"Watching my brothers come through a tough game both mentally and physically, I kicked every ball and felt every bit of emotion with the players, staff and fans," Delph added.
England will face Sweden in the quarter-finals at the Samara Arena on Saturday.
