MOSCOW, July 9 (Sputnik) - Former CSKA Moscow forward Ahmed Musa, who currently plays for Leicester City and Nigeria, praised his former CSKA teammate, Russia veteran defender Sergey Ignashevich, on Monday, saying that he was a "fantastic leader."
The 38-year-old, who started for Russia in all of their five World Cup matches this summer, announced his retirement from football after their quarter-final defeat to Croatia and elimination from the tournament.
"Sergei, What a fantastic leader you are. You have had a wonderful career and one a footballer could dream of having. You were a great teammate to me at CSKA and I enjoyed our moments together. Enjoy the next stage of your life my friend," Musa posted on his Instagram.
Ignashevich is Russia's most capped player with 127 international appearances. He also helped Russia reach the semi-finals at Euro 2008.
