MOSCOW, July 13 (Sputnik) - A total of 14 free trains will transport football fans from 78 countries to Moscow for the World Cup final between France and Croatia, which will be played in the Russian capital on Sunday, the 2018 FIFA World Cup Transport Directorate said Friday.
"A total of 14 free trains have been scheduled to transport fans to the final match of the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia... Despite the fact that Argentina, Mexico and Colombia have already bowed out of the tournament, many fans from these countries will travel on free trains to the final. All in all, fans from 78 different countries will travel on these trains, with most of them being Russians," the directorate said in a statement.
The final will be the 12th World Cup match to be played in Moscow after the city hosted eight group-stage matches and three knockout-stage games.
"From June 12 to July 13, a total of 294 free trains departed from Moscow to the other 10 host cities and 323 trains arrived in Moscow during the same period," Director General of the Transport Directorate Kirill Polyakov said.
Russia's first-ever FIFA World Cup kicked off on June 14 and will end on Sunday, with the final set to be held at Moscow's Luzhniki Stadium.
