Smith was accompanied by CEO of the Local Organizing Committee Alexey Sorokin and local officials during his tour of the Yekaterinburg Arena and the city's temporary infrastructure, including the village of hospitality and volunteer and medical centers.

"This last visit is really about the finishing touches, it's confirming the fine details in order to be ready for the first match. So, the stadium obviously is finished, it had test matches. Another focus is on the temporary infrastructure. Progress is very good. You can see yourself in the city and here, in the stadium. So now we eagerly await the first match," Smith said.

Russia will host the 2018 FIFA World Cup from June 14 to July 15, with Yekaterinburg being one of the 11 host cities.
