"When big politicians come here we don't talk politics we discuss football. We try to talk about football with all of the heads of state," Infantino told journalists.

"That's what we were talking about during the previous matches."

The FIFA President added that the world leaders were humans like everyone else and they just wanted to relax and enjoy football when attending the games.

"I'm talking mainly about football, about emotion, about passion," he said.

"Anyway they are all stressed for one team or for the other team, so most of the time I have to calm them or give them more hope if their team receives a goal... But we had some good discussions."

He also said that more world leaders would come to the tournament's final but politics would not be brought up there either.

This summer's tournament will come to a close on Sunday, with France taking on Croatia in the final, which will be played at Moscow's Luzhniki Stadium.
