ST. PETERSBURG, June 13 (Sputnik) - The 2018 FIFA World Cup press center, where the Hermitage oracle cat Achilles will pick the winning team of the first World Cup match, opened in St. Petersburg, the World Cup media center said Wednesday.
“City press centers start working on June 13. Accredited journalists will be able to use equipped workplaces, free Wi-Fi and watch the 2018 World Cup matches broadcasts,” the media center said in a statement.
The press conference on the press center opening will kick off at 14:00 local time (11:00 GMT), with city officials and World Cup ambassadors taking part. Achilles will pick the winner of the opening match immediately after the press conference.
St. Petersburg is one of the 11 Russian cities that will host the 2018 FIFA World Cup, which is set to take place from June 14 to July 15.
A total of seven World Cup games will be played at the 67,000-seater St. Petersburg Stadium, including a semi-final and the third-place match.
