MOSCOW, June 1 (Sputnik) - A new five-language website and mobile app have been launched to help 2018 FIFA World Cup fans find free public transport, both between and within the host cities, during this summer's tournament in Russia, the 2018 FIFA World Cup Transport Directorate said Friday.
“This new mobile app is meant to become the football and transportation navigation system to help create routes between the main World Cup venues using free transport," the directorate said in a statement.
According to the statement, the website and the mobile app, known as the "Fan's Guide to Transport," is available in Russian, English, French, Spanish and German.
It covers all key venues, including stadiums, fan zones, train stations, airports, and Fan ID distribution centers, and will provide the users with information about the venues' working hours, phone numbers, web addresses and photos.
The guide will also feature the complete schedule of the World Cup matches and will have an option to book free tickets to and from a game via local transport using a Fan ID.
Russia will host the FIFA World Cup from June 14 to July 15 at 12 stadiums in 11 cities across the country - Kaliningrad, Kazan, Moscow, Nizhny Novgorod, Rostov-on-Don, Samara, Saransk, Sochi, St. Petersburg, Volgograd, and Yekaterinburg.
