MOSCOW, July 16 (Sputnik) - France defender Adil Rami said on Sunday night that his side's midfielder Paul Pogba had proved that he was a "real leader" during the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.
France won the 2018 FIFA World Cup after beating Croatia 4-2 in the final at Moscow's Luzhniki Stadium on Sunday.
Pogba told his teammates before the match that they were 90 minutes away from making their childhood dreams come true.
"We were fully concentrated before the match. I should say that Pogba has become a real leader, and he proved that to us at this World Cup. He boosted our confidence," Rami told journalists when he was asked how Pogba had influenced the team's spirit before the match.
Rami added that he was "incredibly happy" and "still could not believe" that they had won the World Cup.
Russia's first-ever FIFA World Cup kicked off on June 14 and came to a close on Sunday with 64 games played in 11 cities across the country.
