BERLIN, June 6 (Sputnik) - German Interior Minister Horst Seehofer, who is also responsible for sports in the German government, plans to visit Russia and attend this summer's FIFA World Cup if his schedule permits, the ministry's spokeswoman said Wednesday.
"[Interior] Minister Seehofer has repeatedly commented on that matter to the press. He will go [to Russia] with pleasure if his schedule permits so," the spokeswoman said.
Russia’s first-ever FIFA World Cup will be held from June 14 to July 15 at 12 arenas in 11 cities across the country.
Defending champions Germany will face Mexico, Sweden and South Korea in Group F.
