VOLGOGRAD, June 5 (Sputnik) - The Fan Zone in the southern Russian city of Volgograd, which will host four FIFA World Cup matches in June, will have a huge screen installed 25 meters (82 feet) above the ground, the region's Deputy Governor Vladimir Popkov told Sputnik on Tuesday.
"A huge screen will be installed... on a 25-meter-tall post, [which is] about as tall as a seven-storey building. So the broadcasts of the matches will be seen almost from everywhere in the Fan Zone," Popkov said.
According to Popkov, Volgograd's Fan Fest, located on the Volga River embankment in the center of the city, can hold up to 15,000 people at a time.
Russia's first-ever FIFA World Cup will be held from June 14 to July 15 in 11 host cities. The 45,000-seater Volgograd Arena will host four group-stage matches, including the England-Tunisia game on June 18.
