The opening ceremony was attended by high-ranking officials from the Russian Interior Ministry, employees of the World Cup participating countries’ embassies, and policemen from foreign countries.

"The main goal… is to minimize fans' violations in the regions where the matches will be held. Special focus will be made on integrating comprehensive security measures for all the World Cup client groups into a single system," Russian Interior Minister Vladimir Kolokoltsev said during the opening ceremony.

The center will oversee Russian police's cooperation with the police forces of the countries set to participate in the World Cup, which kicks off on Thursday and will be held in 11 Russian cities till July 15.
