"In Sochi alone there will be about 100 Russian and foreign entertainers, such as Benny Benassi, [Russian singer] Burito, [German DJ] Paul van Dyk and others. Our Kuban Cossack Choir will perform at the opening. The venue can hold more than 10,000 people," Yurchenko said.

He added that construction work on the site was being finished, with workers installing a huge screen for the live broadcasts of the World Cup matches.

Russia's first-ever FIFA World Cup will take place from June 14 to July 15 in 11 cities - Moscow, Kaliningrad, St. Petersburg, Volgograd, Kazan, Nizhny Novgorod, Samara, Saransk, Rostov-on-Don, Sochi and Yekaterinburg. Sochi's 41,000-seater Fisht Stadium will host four group stage matches, a round of 16 game and a quarter-final.
