"I know the Russian squad and I think they can perform well [at the World Cup], they are playing at home. I am sure they will give 200 percent. I think the Russian team can reach the knockout stage. I know their capabilities, I know that they are a good team," Criscito said.

The Russian national team have played at three FIFA World Cups so far but have never made it past the group stage, while the Soviet Union finished fourth at the 1966 World Cup in England.

The 2018 FIFA World Cup will take place between June 14 and July 15. Matches are set to be played at 12 arenas across 11 Russian cities, with the host nation facing Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Uruguay in Group A.
