KALININGRAD, May 30 (Sputnik) - Kaliningrad, one of the host cities of the 2018 FIFA World Cup, will hold a gastronomic festival on June 28, when England will play Belgium in the city, the region's Minister of Culture and Tourism Andrey Ermak told Sputnik Wednesday.
The festival is part of the Gastronomic Map of Russia project that will travel around the 11 World Cup host cities this summer.
"The Gastronomic Map of Russia is a project by the Russian Tourism Agency that allows Russian regions to get to know each other better and to show how diverse and interesting our country is, gastronomy-wise as well... It consists of 11 food trucks that travel between [World Cup host] cities. They will arrive in Kaliningrad on June 28, on the day of the England-Belgium game," Ermak said.
After the series of gastronomic festivals across Russia, an interactive map will be produced showing information on Russian regions, local products, tourism and gastronomy.
The 2018 FIFA World Cup will take place between June 14 and July 15. Matches are set to be played at 12 arenas across 11 Russian cities, with the 35,000-seater Kaliningrad Stadium set to host four group-stage games.
