Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin met with fans and city residents on Moscow's Nikolskaya Street ahead of Russia’s match against Croatia that is currently taking place in Sochi, a representative of the mayor’s press service said on Saturday.
“Yes, the mayor took a walk on Nikolskaya Street. He talked to the city residents, there were a lot of people,” the representative said.
Nikolskaya Street, situated next to Moscow's iconic Red Square and lined with bars and restaurants, is offering live broadcast of the World Cup matches, and has become a gathering place for football fans from all around the world, who arrived in Russia for the World Cup.
