"Free shuttle buses have transported more than 300,000 football fans since the beginning of the 2018 World Cup. They have already made more than 22,000 trips," the mayor's office said in a statement published on its official website.

According to the statement, the buses run every two to 10 minutes, depending on their destination. In order to get a free ride, fans should produce their FAN ID and a ticket for a match.

"Shuttle routes 'S' run to the airports, metro stations, the Luzhniki Stadium, the Spartak Arena and the FIFA Fan Fest at Vorobyovy Gory. The transport takes spectators to the matches and back to the nearest metro stations after the games are over," Head of Moscow’s Transport Department Maksim Liksutov said as quoted by the website.

Russia's first-ever FIFA World Cup kicked off on June 14 and will continue until July 15.
