"Most of the city's volunteers, 1,647 people, will work on public transport and 960 people will work at the FIFA Fan Fest," the center's press service said.

The volunteers will also be working at the accreditation center, medical centers, on tourist routes, at information desks and some other locations.

"The volunteers' primary task is to create a positive image of the capital for our guests, athletes and fans from different countries and regions of Russia," Mosvolonter's spokesperson added.

The 2018 FIFA World Cup will be held in 11 Russian cities from June 14 to July 15.

Moscow's 81,000-seater Luzhniki Stadium will host seven World Cup games, including the opening match and the final, while five more matches will be held at the 45,000-seater Spartak Stadium.
