“We’re a very young team and we have to play without pressure. We have energy in this team, we want to fight, we’re determined to do well and we know we can do well,” Mikel said as quoted by the FIFA website, adding that Nigeria came to Russia in order to qualify from their group.
Nigeria have been drawn in Group D along with Argentina, Croatia and Iceland. The Super Eagles will face Croatia in their first World Cup game in Kaliningrad on Saturday.
The 2018 FIFA World Cup kicked off on Thursday and will continue until July 15, across 11 Russian cities.
