MOSCOW, July 12 (Sputnik) - A total of 5.6 million Ukrainians watched Wednesday's FIFA World Cup semi-final between England and Croatia, the press service of the Ukrainian TV channel Inter said on Thursday.
The match was held at Moscow's Luzhniki Stadium and ended 2-1 to Croatia, who advanced to their first-ever World Cup final, where they will face 1998 champions France.
"The broadcast of the match on the Inter TV channel was watched by 5.6 million people in Ukraine," the press service said in a statement.
According to the statement, it was a record viewership for a World Cup match in Ukraine since the beginning of the tournament on June 14.
The World Cup final will take place at the Luzhniki Stadium on Sunday with the kick-off set for 18:00 local time (15:00 GMT).
