MOSCOW, June 5 (Sputnik) - Over 8,700 volunteers will be working in Moscow during the FIFA World Cup this summer, the city mayor's press service said on Tuesday.
“At least 8,700 volunteers will be working [in Moscow] during the World Cup, including 3,700 volunteers from the Local Organization Committee and 5,000 city volunteers,” the press service said.
The majority of the volunteers, selected to work at the tournament, have previous experience working at the 2017 Confederations Cup and can speak English.
Volunteers will be helping fans and tourists with transportation, finding their way around the stadiums, the Fan Fest and tourist routes. They will also help the media and medical staff and will work in the information and accreditation centers.
Moscow's 81,000-seater Luzhniki Stadium will host seven World Cup games, including the opening match and the final, while five more matches will be held at the 45,000-seater Spartak Stadium.
