“I can say: relax, everything will be fine at the World Cup,” Kutepov told journalists.

Russia suffered a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Austria on May 30 and played out a 1-1 draw with Turkey on Tuesday.

Kutepov added that the players did not need any comforting after the friendly matches.

“We are professionals, everyone understands everything,” he said.

The 24-year-old, who plays for Spartak Moscow, has been capped seven times for Russia and was named in the country's final 23-man World Cup squad on Sunday.

The World Cup gets underway on June 14, with the final to be played on July 15. The hosts have been drawn in Group A along with Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Uruguay.
