“If they are not at 100 percent, they must be at least 90 percent ready for the friendly with Turkey. It is likely the starting 11 against Turkey will play in the first World Cup match, and we should expect a completely different game from the match against Austria. There is no room for any more excuses,” Radchenko said.

Russia failed to muster a shot on goal as they slipped to a disappointing 1-0 defeat to Austria in Innsbruck on Wednesday.

Radchenko also said he was very surprised that midfielder Aleksandr Tashaev and forward Fedor Chalov did not make the final squad, and added that they both had enjoyed good seasons with their clubs. He believed their inclusions in the World Cup squad would have given them valuable experience to help with their future development.

Radchenko won 33 caps for Russia and is currently a youth coach with Zenit St. Petersburg.

The 2018 FIFA World Cup will be held in Russia from June 14 to July 15 with the games set to take place at 12 stadiums in 11 cities across the country - Moscow, St. Petersburg, Kaliningrad, Volgograd, Kazan, Nizhny Novgorod, Samara, Saransk, Rostov-on-Don, Yekaterinburg, and Sochi.
