"We commented on the surprising organization of the World Cup and the hospitality of the Russian people," Morales wrote on his Twitter account, commenting on his photo taken during "De la mano del Diez" TV show.

"De la mano del Diez" is a special project of the Latin American Telesur TV channel, launched to cover the 2018 World Cup. One of the program hosts is Argentina's football legend Diego Maradona, who is depicted with Morales in the photo.

According to Bolivian newspaper El Deber, the president said during the show that he liked Russia's fourth goal that had been scored by striker Denis Cheryshev.

The 2018 FIFA World Cup kicked off on Thursday with the Russian national team having beaten Saudi Arabia 5-0. Cheryshev scored a double, Yuri Gazinzky, Artem Dzyba and Fedor Smolov netted one goal each for their side.

The tournament will continue through July 15, with a total of 64 matches set to be played at 12 stadiums across 11 Russian cities.
