"Vladimir Kolokoltsev visited Samara as part of his working trip across the 2018 FIFA World Cup host cities," the ministry said.

The Russian interior minister inspected the temporary base where the police will stay during the duration of the tournament. Kolokoltsev also visited the Samara Arena’s operational center, which will help to ensure security in and around the stadium during the tournament.

The 45,000-seater stadium will host four group stage matches, a round of 16 encounter and a quarter-final during the FIFA World Cup, which will be held in 11 cities across Russia from June 14 till July 15.
